At Paddle Gear Shop, we stand behind our marine-tough paddling equipment with the same reliability we build into our products. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help with our straightforward returns process.
Our Return Policy
We accept returns of most items within 15 days of delivery. To be eligible for a return:
- Item must be unused and in its original packaging
- All tags and protective coverings must be intact
- Proof of purchase is required
Non-Returnable Items
For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on:
- Custom Kits (made-to-order products)
- Foot Controls (due to installation and hygiene considerations)
- Drain Plugs (small hardware items)
- Any products that have been installed or used
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
- Contact Our Crew: Email us at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your order with your return request (see template below).
- Wait for Approval: Our Washington-based team will respond within 2 business days with return instructions.
- Package Your Item: Securely repackage the product with all original materials.
- Ship It Back: Send the package to our Washington address using a trackable shipping method. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- Processing Time: 3-5 business days
- Refund Method: Original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
- Timeline:
- Credit card refunds: 5-10 business days to appear on your statement
- PayPal refunds: Typically processed within 24 hours
Note: Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
Exchanges
For exchanges:
- Follow the same return process above
- Clearly state the replacement item you want in your return request
- We’ll ship the replacement once we receive your return
- You’ll be responsible for any price difference and additional shipping costs
International Returns
For our global paddlers (excluding parts of Asia and remote regions):
- Return shipping must be sent via the original carrier (DHL, FedEx, or EMS)
- You’re responsible for any customs fees or duties on returned items
- International refunds may take an additional 3-5 business days to process
Damaged or Defective Items
If your paddling gear arrives damaged or defective:

- Include photos of the damage and packaging
- We’ll arrange for a replacement or refund and cover return shipping costs
